Student Evaluations, Fall 2014

If you don’t know, after each course, students are asked to evaluate the professor.  Mostly it’s a multiple choice thing that’s used by the higher-ups to rate our performance. But there’s also an anonymous written commentary component that is read only by the professor him or herself.

In the interests of transparency, I like to make the latter public. The comments from my most recent classes, from the Fall of 2014, are here and here.  And here are some highlights (the butter one is an in reference to the gift of a pound of butter at the beginning of class; don’t ask):
